The
Nursing Mother's Herbal
Recommended by La Leche
League!
Item # 443
Price: $15.95
Caroline writes:
The Nursing Mother’s
Herbal is a book I highly recommend for any
breastfeeding mother as an invaluable resource. It has a
40 page chart in the back that lists many different
herbs and the safety of that herb for the nursing mother
and baby. It is so much more than just an herbal
reference. There is a chapter on your milk supply,
general breastfeeding information, what to do when your
baby is sick, and knowledge on fertility and weaning.
This book was written by a nurse and a La Leche League
Leader.
Just as a disclaimer I
do not agree with everything I chapter 5, “Your
Healthcare options”. This is the only chapter that has
any touch of new age thoughts in it. It covers Chinese
medicine, Western or conventional medicine,
complementary and alternative medicine, traditional
healing, and other CAM Therapy options.
“Many woman take St.
John’s Wort for postpartum depression, but is it safe
for their nursing infants? Which herbs can a new mother
take to increase or inhibit milk production? The Nursing
Mother’s Herbal answers these and other questions about
the effects of herbs, dietary supplements, and other
natural products on nursing women and their babies. It
is the first book entirely dedicated to the use of herbs
and herbal products by breastfeeding mothers. 322 pages
What
others are saying:
“A comprehensive and thorough manual
about breastfeeding in general and herbal remedies in
particular. I recommend it.” Andrew Weil, MD
“Shelia Humphrey’s book will have a
favored place at side when advising nursing mothers
about their breastfeeding issues.”
Jack Newman, MD, FRCPC
Author of The Ultimate
Breastfeeding Book Of Answers
“By combining the traditional knowledge
and experience of clinical and homespun herbalists with
the science of lactation pharmacology and healing
plants, Shelia Humphrey has set a new standard for
herbal information for the breastfeeding woman.”
James A.
Duke, PhD Author of The Green Pharmacy
“Accurate, reliable, clearly written, The Nursing
Mother’s Herbal will provide valuable help for millions
of new mothers who are interested in using herbs in a
safe, responsible manner.”

The
Wise Woman's Guide to Blessing Her Husband's Vision
(CD)
$15.97
Item # B820
An excellent 2-part message for
wives, encouraging them fulfill their God-given role
of being a true helper to their husband. I listened
to this when Jesse and I were newly married and it
has made a profound impact upon me ever since.
-Crystal Paine
The Christian community is full of dear ladies
discouraged because their husbands lack vision to
lead the family with gusto. In some cases, the men
are simply overwhelmed with present
responsibilities. In other cases, they lack a
biblical framework for household leadership. It
certainly does not help when men have poor role
models in their own lives, which is the case for a
growing majority of husbands. Often wives cry out,
“Help, my husband just doesn’t get it,” or, “I want
more children, but my husband says ‘no,’” or even,
“My husband is nervous about home schooling.” For
more than ten years, Doug and Beall Phillips have
spoken with hundreds who share these sentiments.
But, too often, wives contribute to the problem
through a wrong response. The great news is that the
Bible anticipates this crisis of leadership in the
home and provides crystal clear direction for wives.
Wise women will desire to bless their husband’s
vision by embracing the specific affirmative and
negative biblical commands given to them for this
very purpose. Those who do will become a sanctifying
influence on their household, grow in spiritual
maturity, and become God’s vehicle for their
husband’s spiritual revival. This series is meant to
encourage both wives and husbands with the
principles and the practicalities for men and women
growing in family vision for the Lord.
By Douglas W. Phillips. Approx. 1 hr. 40 mins.
The
Valley
of Vision
A Collection of Puritan Prayers and Devotions
$19.97
Item # B809
Edited by Arthur
Bennett
Deluxe Bonded Leather Edition
Holiness. Purity. Truth. To the Puritans, these
were more than attributes of God, they were high
aspirations in their daily walk with the LORD.
Nowhere is this more clearly seen than in their
prayers and devotions. The Valley of Vision is a
432-page collection of the heart cries of such
theological giants as John Hart, Charles
Spurgeon, Richard Baxter, and John Bunyan. This
deluxe leather bound edition is an indispensable
tool for use in family worship or your personal
quiet times. Used as such, these uplifting
prayers will undoubtedly enrich your walk with
the Lord and direct your eyes towards the Throne
of Grace. -Jesse Paine
This collection of prayers has touched and
challenged our family to the inner core. We have
been convicted of our lack of depth, of our
complacency, of our selfishness, of our
worliness. This is not fluff but true heartfelt
yearnings after the Lord, after purity, after
righteousness, after holiness. -Crystal Paine
Sleeping
Beauty and the Five Questions (CD)
$9.97
Item # B816
"This CD is a must for every father, mother, and
daughter to listen to! In Sleeping Beauty and
the Five Questions, Doug Phillips challenges
fathers on the importance of guarding their
daughters’ hearts at all costs, how to shield
them from the pressures of a peer-oriented
society and inappropriate romantic
relationships, and how to prepare them as a
bride — a godly young woman of purity for the
young man of their dreams whom God is preparing.
Though the message is directed to fathers, I
think that mothers, daughters, and even sons
would benefit from it as well. I highly
recommend this." - Crystal Paine
Approx. 1 hr. on Compact Disc.
The
Hope Chest: A Book for the Bride
And for the Wife Who Would Retain the Joy of Bridal
Days
$13.97
Item # B818
By Bowman and Kift
This delightful and cheery little book is a
reprint from the original 1922 edition. Through
each page, we are encouraged to make our homes a
quiet haven from the hustle and bustle of the
busy world, for our husbands and children to
come home to. Thriftiness and frugality walk
hand in hand with elegance and beauty as many
useful secrets are unveiled for the new
bride...or for "the wife who would retain the
joy of bridal days." As an example of one of the
many wonderful quotes found throughout this
book, here is one of my favorites: "If you would
see yourself truly, stand a moment at the door
of your living room, for it is your reflection."
Suggestions for the "new little home" are
covered in each chapter. A delightful book to
help you prepare to have your own home someday!
Paperback. 168 pages.
The
Hope Chest: A Legacy of Love

Item # B819
By Rebekah Wilson
This is a must-read book for all parents
desiring to wisely prepare their daughters (and

hope to be well-equipped to go into marriage. If
you read no other book and do nothing else to
prepare for marriage, read this one. It is the
best and most-comprehensive book I have ever
read on how parents can leave a legacy to their
children. It goes far beyond the physical bounds

spiritual legacy to your children as well. Every
family needs to have a well-used copy of this
book. Before considering having a hopechest, you
must read this book. Softcover. 375 pages.
Home-Making
$17.97
Item # B814
By J.R.Miller
Doug Phillips of Vision Forum writes: "Don’t let
the title fool you. This is not just a book for
women who keep home. Home-Making is an
uncompromising vision statement for the domestic
bliss and cultural dominion of the Christian
family. The message of Home-Making is powerful:
“Sisters, Brothers, Husbands, Wives — Home life
is meant to be beautiful, ennobling, and
victorious!” God intends for each person, from
parent to child, to play a role in family life,
the ultimate goal of which is the transformation
of the individual, the home, and the society for
the glory of God.
"Miller puts into writing truth that we need to
hear but are usually too afraid to say. He
carefully addresses each member of the family,
managing to find the perfect balance between
inspiration and exhortation."First, he addresses
the marriage relationship: 'The married life is
meant to be the happiest, fullest, purest,
richest life. It is God’s own ideal of
completeness.' He then instructs the husband and
the wife: 'Every true-hearted husband should
seek to be worthy of the wife he has already
won. A true wife makes a man’s life nobler,
stronger, grander, by the omnipotence of her
love ‘turning all the forces of manhood upward
and heavenward.’"With regard to the brother and
sister relationship, never have I read as pure a
description as here. Miller asks, 'Why should
not a brother make a confidante of his own
sister rather than of any other? Why should not
a sister look to her own brother for counsel,
for protection, for advice, rather than to any
other?'
"My wife writes, 'Sometimes all of us get
swallowed up in the day to day duties and lose
sight of the beauty in family life. We all need
our vision renewed and our hearts encouraged.
This book does just that. I was deeply moved and
my very heart was touched as I read the
beautiful descriptions of biblical family
relationships. I was inspired. My vision was
refreshed.” Hardback. 266 pgs.

Verses
of Virtue
$19.97
Item # B822
by Beall Phillips
This book will be a treasured keepsake for
parents and daughters alike. My husband and I
enjoyed reading these together and we are
looking forward to sharing them with our
daughter soon.
Without a vision for femininity and virtue,
Christian womanhood will not survive the
twenty-first century. The time has come to sing
the praises of motherhood, to extol the
blessings of beautiful girlhood, and to cast a
vision for hearth and home. Poetry and prose are
crucial components in this mission of vision
communication.
From the beginning, poetry and the beauty of
language have always been a part of God’s
revealed program for instilling perspective and
purpose in the minds and hearts of women. In
fact, the first words of love communicated of
woman by man were poetic words of appreciation
and understanding. Drawing upon the beauty of
parallelism in expression, Adam declared of Eve:
“This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my
flesh.”
And so it goes throughout all the Scriptures.
From the Psalms of David, to the poetry of
Isaiah, to the verses of Deborah, to the songs
of Solomon, and even the divinely inspired prose
of John foretelling the return of the
bridegroom, our Lord uses the beauty of language
to motivate and to inspire. These are God’s
verses of virtue, and they served as the
inspiration for untold hundreds of books and
poems dedicated to a Christian vision for
motherhood and home which once defined the
landscape of American family life.
Beall Phillips seeks to revive this vision. In
Verses of Virtue she draws from some of the most
heart-warming and inspirational verses from
Scripture, America’s illustrious past, and even
antiquity to provide women with a volume
brimming with encouragement. Hardback. 140 pgs.
Compiled and Edited by Elizabeth Beall Phillips.

How to Wisely Invest Your Daughter’s Time
"I listened to this message when I was 17 and it
changed my life. If you have ever wondered if
college or careers were right for young women,
you must listen to this CD." -Crystal Paine
A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
The same is true of double-minded parents.
Across America we have met evangelical parents
who desperately want their daughters to grow to
be virtuous women with a love for home.
Notwithstanding these good intentions, many of
these same parents continue to build their
daughters’ future on a feminist model. Frankly,
most Christians are unaware that the Bible
offers clear guidelines for how wise parents can
invest their daughters’ time for the glory of
God. This tape offers hope and direction for the
woman of God who desires to cultivate virtue
while fully exercising her gifts.

Item # B806
By Jesse and Crystal Paine
Wonder how you could manage homeschooling and a
home business without losing your sanity?
29 Families Share Their Real-Life Experiences!
As newlyweds, we had always dreamed of
homeschooling and owning a home business...
When we got married we had high aspirations of
someday owning our own home business, having
lots of children, and homeschooling them all.
Within just a few short years, our home business
dream become a reality, and a few months later,
we had our first baby. Although we loved our
role as business owners and parents, we were
struggling to keep up with everything and we
couldn't even imagine adding homeschooling on
top of it!
Personal Stories...
So, we began looking for other homeschooling,
business-owning veterans who could give us some
direction, help, and wisdom in how they manage
to survive. After some investigation, we found
many such families who were willing to come
alongside us and share from their lives and
experiences. Hearing their personal stories
provided just the encouragement and inspiration
we needed as we started down this path.
Since then, we've met many other homeschooling
families who would love to own their home
business but they don't have a clue how it could
be possible and they have no idea where to
start. We have wanted to help these families as
we know exactly how they feel, yet we are still
young and have a lot to learn ourselves. We
finally decided that putting together a book
with helpful advice and encouragement from our
friends and mentors would be the best thing we
could do.
Hundreds of Years of Experience...
This book holds the collective wisdom of
hundreds of years of experience. Many of the
families interviewed have owned businesses for
10-20 years or more. A few are just beginners.
Some have 11 children, some have 2 children.
A Realistic Picture...
This book does not contain hype or unrealistic
visions of a home business. These are real
families, just like yours, who share their
real-life experiences, struggles, and
difficulties, in addition to the blessings and
benefits of having a home business. They
willingly open themselves up to share their
personal stories.
Practical Advice...
A wealth of practical advice is woven into the
inspirational stories. Topics are covered such
as: How to Balance Homeschooling and Home
Business, Why Owning a Home Business May or May
Not Be the Best Thing for Your Family, How to
Involve Your Children in Your Home Business, How
to Integrate Your Home Business into Your
Children's Education, and much more!
"...This book is an invaluable encouragement for
the Christian homeschooler considering bringing
their work home."
-Dena Wood, co-owner of TimesTales.com
"...An ideal starting point and source of
encouragement for homeschooling families who
wish to start their own home based business.
With the first-person accounts of many
homeschooling entrepreneurs, I was blessed and
encouraged as I go forward with my own fledgling
home-based business."
